Preparing to Ride

Preparing to Ride is all about the horse gear equestrians use. The morning light was streaming through the door. I couldn’t resist setting up a composition with this light, so I grabbed my gear to take a photo. I wanted the composition to look very natural…like I had just noticed the beauty of the tack sitting there while I went to get the horse. Since this was natural lighting, I couldn’t change the light. Instead, I kept changing the position of all the parts and pieces. I took 39 photographs to get the look I was going for, but in the end, I chose photograph #8. Looking at the composition through the lens can appear differently. You never know which one is going to be “the one” so I make sure I capture a wide variety of choices.
