Adrift

The idea for this equine art composition came when I was vacationing in the country of Panama.

My family and I were heading back to the mainland after spending some days in the San Blas Islands with the Cuna Indians. We left the islands at 5 am. As we drifted through the water, plankton phosphorescence twinkled in the water like the stars in the sky. It was so dark out that you could not tell where the sky ended and the water began…giving the feeling of sailing through the sky like Peter Pan! The horse adrift is Osiris, an Egyptian Arabian. Because of his heritage I decided to add an Egyptian astrology chart in the sky. I love layering elements to give a deeper meaning or story line.
